FertilityThe Association of Reflexologists believe that reflexology can be of great benefit to clients suffering from sub-fertility. Their understanding based on feedback from Reflexologists is that on average about 50% of clients seeking help through Reflexology for sub-fertility, find themselves pregnant within 6 months of commencing treatment.Experiencing sub-fertility can be a highly stressful and tense time for both partners. There is no doubt that stress can play a significant factor in an individuals ability to conceive. That is why it is often preferable to focus on the issues of stress for the first few weeks or months. By taking this approach and helping with any appropriate lifestyle changes, a significant number of women will get pregnant simply because they have been able to reduce their anxieties and improve their health. This reduction in stress is likely to have a positive impact on their endocrine system. If you are undergoing fertility treatment, Reflexology is not known to have any detrimental or negative effect on this treatment. Drugs, such as clomiphene, which is used to control the hormone cycle and stimulate ovulation do not appear to be affected by a client receiving reflexology. Reflexology can be greatly beneficial on the run up to any assisted conception treatments, however at the point of down regulating it is recommended that you finish your reflexology treatments and seek an alternative therapy. Research has shown that using Acupuncture during assisted conception techniques can increase success rates. Lunar fertility Since pagan times lunar and menstrual cycles have been inextricably linked. Women’s natural ovulation and menstruation was linked to the phase of the moon at the time of their birth. In the 1950’s, Dr Eugene Jonas, developed a theory as to explain why women fell pregnant outside of the biological ovulation period. This theory is not accepted in mainstream medicine but independent research has found some support for his theories. He concluded the a woman is more fertile during her lunar fertile period rather than her biological one. How it works The appearance of the moon varies daily in accordance with its orbit around the earth and position relative to the sun. When we look at the moon from earth what we can see represents the lunar phase for that day. It takes 29 days for the moon to complete a full cycle, from a new moon to a full moon and back to a new moon again. Lunar fertility theory implies that you will be most fertile when the moon is in the same lunar phase as when you were born. Your chances of conceiving are said to be greatest if your biological ovulation falls at the same time as your period of lunar fertility. However, if you suffer from irregular periods there are traditional methods which are said to regulate your menstrual cycle and realign it with the lunar cycle so that your fertility can be enhanced. One of these methods include sleeping with your curtains open so your body can be influenced by the moon. In theory if your lunar fertile period and your biological ovulation occur at different times, you have two chances a month to fall pregnant. Although lunar fertility methods are not scientifically proven and are not suitable for anyone who has a medical problem that prevents them from conceiving, many find this method works and is a safe, non-invasive way to enhance fertility. I believe that every woman has the right to this information, so if it interests you, we can discuss Lunar Fertility during your treatment and if you would like me to, I will send you your Lunar Fertility charts for the following year, free of charge, I have had clients who have fallen pregnant using the Lunar Fertility method (but don’t tell their husbands as they will think we are all mad!!!) |
